Memorial Day

I have always loved patriotic holidays, books, pictures, movies and the list goes on and on.  I guess the love of my country led me to major in social science in college.  When I went on to get my masters degree I chose history and psychology as my areas of concentration.  I currently teach 12th grade government and economics.  I am working on my 23rd year of teaching and I still love talking about our wonderful government.  I know... to some people that is a boring topic, but our wonderful constitution allows you to disagree with the idea.  Teaching seniors allows me to register our 18 year old young men for the selective service.  It makes me both nervous and extremely proud when they decide to join the military.  Happy memorial day to all of our troops!

Night owl? I think so...

As will happen many times, I am posting this during the wee hours of the morning.  It seems that insomnia has decided to hang around forever.  I do find peace in a quiet house and I enjoy control of the tv remote!  Yes, during the day, Gregg has custody of the tv changer. 

I am looking forward to the summer, but boy do I complain when it gets hot.  If you have ever been around me much you will see that my tan actually consists of many freckles refusing to join.  If the freckles aren't visible, then that means I probably have some "degree" of a burn.  Gotta love a light complexion.  I liken my tan to a catfish belly.

I hope God blesses you all.  Remember he answers all of our prayers~ either with a yes, maybe or a no.  I need to keep this in mind.  He also gives us the "we'll see..." answer which my girls immediately cringed at.  "Mom, you know that means no, just go ahead and say it!"  Pretty smart girls, if I do say so myself.  hehe

Ready, set, GO!

I guess now is as good of a time to blog as ever.  I enjoy reading other people's blog so much and I have wanted to have my own for a long time.  It has seemed that I had too much going on to tackle yet another project, but I think I need this blog.  I have always talked a lot, and enjoyed meeting people, but venturing out on this is new territory to me.  I look forward to the journey.
